Carbamazepine can reduce Zoloft effectiveness. The interaction goes both ways with some SSRIs.
Carbamazepine induces CYP3A4, reducing sertraline levels. Some SSRIs (fluoxetine, fluvoxamine) can inhibit carbamazepine metabolism via CYP3A4, increasing carbamazepine toxicity.
